All About ME!!!

Well, I finally registered to run in the YMCA Run 4 Fun 5K last Thursday. I had put it off because I wasn't sure my body was going to hold up. I had tried running before a few years ago and ended up hurting my knees. So, I wanted to make sure my knees were going to "hold" me up through the 10 week training program. And they did. I felt them for about two weeks in the middle of the training, but they would recover before I had to run again.

And of course, now that I have registered, my foot hurts. Not my knees ... my right foot. I have suffered a little discomfort in the heel of my right foot for over a year. I contributed it to bad shoes then wearing flip flops all Summer. Then on Tuesday as I was running, my heel REALLY started to hurt, but I finished. Then, I could NOT walk for the rest of the day. I limped all afternoon long and into Wednesday morning.

I made an appointment with a foot doctor to find out what the problem was. Turns out I have Plantar Faciitius. Of course, Doc says I should limit ALL physical activities. In the end, he did say "HE" would run the race if it where "him". But I will have to baby it afterwards. He realized I had trained very hard for this moment.

As long as I have my shoes on, walking is not a problem. I just cannot walk barefooted which I shouldn't do anyway. For now, my plans are to get up bright and early Saturday morning and head to the Y to run my very first 5K.

As for the scale, I have not gotten on it because not only have I only worked out one day this week, I also haven't eaten very well. So the scale will have to wait until I feel confident the number will be different from the last time I got on it.

House Renovation Update

I finally have something to post on the house. Last Friday, Myron installed our new back door. It took ALL day but it is in and working ... well, sort of. It locks and keeps out the heat.

Happy Easter!!!!

We had a very relaxed Easter Sunday.

The girls did dye eggs on Saturday night. I bought the Tie-Dye kit this year for something different ... didn't really work well on brown eggs.

Easter morning.

EASTER EGG HUNT

The girls anxiously await Daddy hiding the eggs.

Sarah was running everywhere that she couldn't "see" the eggs.

Daddy did a very good job hiding the eggs. Can you find it?

Bethany FINALLY found the egg on top of the bird feeder.

The girls checking out all their goods.

Spring Break

Last week, the girls were out of school for Spring Break and Myron took vacation. We spent the first part of the week in Panama City Beach with Kathy. While we were there, Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Mark came for a visit. Of course, a cold front moved through and I didn't pack sweaters. By the time we left, the temperatures had climbed back up to the 80's.

The pool and ocean waters were freezing, but it didn't stop the girls from getting in either. They were given some boogie boards that they tried out the last day we were there.

I think they were having a good time.

Acting silly at Alvin's Island.

I have to take time out for the beach shots.

Sisterly love. They had SO much fun.

That water was freezing. I do not know how they stood it.

Having fun together.

I know where I will be going for some Summer fun where I can enjoy the water ... back to Aunt Kathy's. Free room with a pool.

We had a really good time visiting with Kathy and taking advantage of her accommodations :).

Moving Along

Me Update: Finally, the scale is moving ... not fast but moving down instead of fluctuating. I am trying very hard to stay off the scale, keeping it to one time a week. That seems to help. I lost three pounds two weeks ago and have been able to keep it off plus I lost an additional pound this week. I will keep my fingers crossed that the one pound stays off. I am going to DEFEAT that scale if it takes me a year ... I WILL CONQUER!!!! I have hit the gym around 6 times a week for the last three weeks. I am also participating in a Walk to Run program. By the end of the 10 weeks, I should be ... WILL be ... able to run a 5K which is scheduled for April 30th. Go Me!!!! I have finished 6 of the 10 weeks ... well, I will be completely finished with the 6th week this weekend when I do my homework. Soccer Update: The girls are on different teams. Bethany is playing in the 10-11 year old group and Sarah is in the 8-9 year old group. BUT, tomorrow they will be playing a practice game against each other. This should be very, very interesting. I am interested to see how Sarah plays in an actual game. She has shown some very strong aggression and spirit. Bethany is much more reserved but came alive last season in soccer. So it will be good to see them play against each other. Other News: The NC house is still for sale. The SC house is still getting fixed up a little bit at a time. We bought a new back door. I am having to paint it which takes time. Hopefully, it will get installed next weekend. I have got to go to the grocery store but have to finish my list first. I am not getting that done sitting here, but I wanted to get an update in. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Finally, the rain has stopped for us. We should have a sunshiny weekend.
